About McClean Chiropractic

Three generations of spine care in Provo, Utah

A family practice founded in 1965, now led by the third generation. We focus on what most chiropractors skip. Finding the biomechanical cause of pain with motion X-ray, AI-assisted analysis, and corrective care that lasts past the next flare-up.

A family practice. Three generations deep

1965. Dr. Gordon McClean Sr. opened the doors of what would become McClean Chiropractic. He practiced in Provo for decades and built a reputation for careful, conservative spine care.

1968. His son, Dr. Gordon McClean Jr., graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic. Over the course of his career he earned a Diplomate in Chiropractic Orthopedics (DABCO, 1990) through the American Board of Chiropractic Orthopedists, became board-certified through the International Academy of Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine, and in 2022 completed a 2-year Fellowship in Spinal Biomechanics and Trauma (FSBT) through the University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Cleveland University.

1999 and 2000. His sons Dr. Devin and Dr. Matt McClean joined the practice. Both also completed the FSBT fellowship. Three generations, all trained as Spine Management Physicians.

Meet the doctors

Three doctors, three styles of care, one clinic.

Dr. Devin McClean, DC FSBT

Spine Management Physician · Fellow in Spinal Biomechanics and Trauma

Dr. Devin McClean has been helping patients heal naturally since 1999 by blending advanced chiropractic care with a whole-body, patient-centered approach. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from Brigham Young University, and served a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Quebec, Canada, where he learned French. He earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Southern California University of Health Sciences.

He has advanced training in acupuncture through the International Academy of Medical Acupuncture under Dr. John A. Amaro, and completed the FSBT fellowship (Fellow in Spinal Biomechanics and Trauma) through the University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Cleveland University. This postdoctoral education allows him to take a more thorough and biomechanics-based approach to evaluating and managing complex spine and injury cases.

Dr. McClean’s focus is not just on relieving pain. But on restoring long-term function, balance, and overall wellness through personalized care. He encourages lifestyle changes centered around movement, nutrition, and human connection, all of which he values in his own life.

Outside the clinic, he stays active through hiking, biking, strength training, and travel. He also enjoys designing boutique homes. An outlet for creativity and attention to detail that mirrors his approach to patient care.

Dr. Matt McClean, DC FSBT

Spine Management Physician · Fellow in Spinal Biomechanics and Trauma

Dr. Matt McClean is a chiropractor and spine care specialist with advanced postdoctoral training in spinal biomechanics and trauma. He received his B.S. from Brigham Young University after serving a mission for his church in Finland, and earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Southern California University of Health Sciences in 2000.

In 2019, Dr. McClean completed two years of fellowship training in Spinal Biomechanics and Trauma through the University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Cleveland University. He is currently completing postdoctoral advanced training in neuroradiology and musculoskeletal MRI interpretation. A program designed for Spine Management Physicians managing complex spinal conditions.

Dr. McClean brings a clinical approach focused on measurable diagnosis, motion-based imaging, and long-term solutions for pain and spinal dysfunction.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. McClean and his wife Lisa are raising their nine children together. He values family, faith, and serving the community he calls home.

Dr. Gordon McClean Jr., DC DABCO FSBT

Spine Management Physician · Fellow in Spinal Biomechanics and Trauma · Diplomate of the American Board of Chiropractic Orthopedists

Dr. Gordon McClean brings decades of expertise to the field of spine care and chiropractic medicine. After earning his Bachelor of Science degree from Brigham Young University, he graduated as a Doctor of Chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1968.

In 1990, Dr. McClean earned a Diplomate in Chiropractic Orthopedics (DABCO) through the American Board of Chiropractic Orthopedists. A credential representing several years of post-graduate study and examination that most practicing chiropractors never pursue. He is also board-certified through the International Academy of Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine.

In 2022, he further advanced his education by completing a two-year Fellowship in Spinal Biomechanics and Trauma through the University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Cleveland University.

Dr. McClean currently practices alongside his sons, Dr. Matthew McClean and Dr. Devin McClean, at McClean Chiropractic in Provo, Utah. Their collaborative approach offers patients a rare depth of experience and continuity of care.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. McClean and his wife Cheri enjoy spending time with their six children and growing number of grandchildren.

What an orthopedic surgeon said about the talk

After the conference, one attending physician wrote publicly about his experience and referenced Dr. McClean’s presentation: This segment is from an orthopedic surgeon in attendance. The kind of unsolicited peer endorsement a chiropractic clinic rarely receives.

Dr. Matt at the Spine Management Summit

Dr. Matt McClean was invited to present “Architecture of the Spine” at the 5th Annual Spine Management Summit in Sundance, Utah. A professional conference for healthcare providers across spine and musculoskeletal care. Including chiropractors, neurosurgeons, orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, and pain-management physicians.
